Lunch was supposed to end an hour ago.

The plates are still on the table.

The music is louder now.

Someone has left their chair.

Then another.

Between the white linen, the Mediterranean and the afternoon sun, lunch quietly becomes something else.

The DJ keeps playing.

Nobody asks what time it is.

Some afternoons are never meant to follow the plan.
